Grab the Popcorn Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 5, 2026
Overview
Grab the Popcorn is a personal movie list and streaming availability tracker. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is and is not collected when you use the app.
Data We Collect
Grab the Popcorn does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to the app developer. We have no servers, no accounts, and no analytics.
TMDB API
Grab the Popcorn uses The Movie Database (TMDB) API to retrieve movie information and streaming availability data. Your TMDB API key is stored locally on your device in the iOS Keychain and is only ever sent directly to TMDB's servers at api.themoviedb.org. The app developer never sees or has access to your API key. TMDB's own privacy policy applies to any data transmitted to their servers and can be found at themoviedb.org/privacy-policy.
iCloud Sync
If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your movie lists and data are stored in your personal iCloud account. This data is private to your Apple ID and is never accessible to the app developer. Apple's privacy policy applies to iCloud data.
Local Storage
All app data — your lists, movies, and preferences — is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account. None of this data is accessible to the app developer.
Contact
If you have any questions about this privacy policy, you can contact through the App Store.
